I m not sure how thick the plaster is and most likely the thickness could vary from wall to wall. My second choice would be to go over the paint plaster with felt paper and cbu then tile it using a radius bullnose. One handy tip my father in law taught me three years ago was if you plan on tiling a wall and the wall is uneven then the plastering doesn t need to be abs.
